On 12 June, we are bringing together a panel to discuss the role of business in improving living standards for the people of the UK.
The panel will feature:
- Frances O’Grady, General Secretary of the TUC
- Estelle Brachlianoff, Senior Executive Vice-President UK & Ireland at Veolia
- Matthew Whittaker, Deputy Chief Executive and Chief Economist of the Resolution Foundation
- John Cridland, Director-General of the CBI
It will be chaired by FT employment correspondent Sarah O’Connor.
They will debate issues such as raising pay sustainably and opportunities for low paid workers to progress.
This theme was central to the General Election and David Cameron is reported to have told his Cabinet that they must remember that they are there to “give everyone in our country the chance to make the most of their life”.
We are using the hashtag #BetterOffBritain for this event and on the day we will have a live-update page where you can follow what’s going on.
After the event we will upload and share audio recordings of the discussion.
