The Great Business Debate is about understanding why people feel as they do about business and the lessons we can learn about building trust.
Businesses make a positive difference to local communities, giving a boost to local economies and people. Often this is just by doing what they do best – creating jobs and wealth. But faced with rising expectations and fewer resources, companies need to do more with less for the communities they serve.
Over the coming weeks we want to show case what business is doing to rise to this challenge, and to build and maintain trust.
Here are some introductory materials to get you thinking:
- Factsheet: Local impact
- Is business doing enough to help local people share in its success? Asks Declan Collier, London City Airport
So what’s your opinion? What is business’ responsibility to the communities in which they are based? Do they do enough to consider the effect they have on local environments and people?
